Mt. 6:5-15 PrayerSermon on the Mount
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
This section of Mt. 6 pertains to prayer. Bible.org has a Bible study called The Fatal Failures of Religion: #3 Externalism, (Matthew 6:1-18) and Jesus on PrayerMatthew, 6:5-15. The first one is very good. It is an admonision on those of us whom really do not understand the meaning of this chapter, while the second one is instructional. They are both very good. Have a blessed day.
Prayer
6:9-13--Lk 11:2-4
*"Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed by thy name,
10Thy kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us this day our daily bread, and
12forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
[For thine is Kingdom
and the Power
and the Glory
forever and ever. Amen!]
The prayer you see here is NOT the prayer in this Bible. This is the prayer I remember. How arrogant of me, right? Well, I've heard a lot of talk about making the Bible gender-nuetral. Tell me, is that any less arrogant?! I just believe the way I learned it is beautiful. That is all.
